Close, Closer, Closest

Close, Closer, Closest invites the viewer into the interior lives of women through torn, ripped, and painted photographs that hover between revelation and concealment. Fragments of the body meet elements of nature. The rip signifies loss, yet the act of repairing becomes a quiet renewal. Paint, glue and tape bind the imagery to create a new story.

These images arise from emotion. They carry the warmth of memory, the ache of absence, and the small, radiant moments that shape a life. Rough edges remain visible and the work asks the viewer to stand near and then nearer, to notice what persists or what is missing. In this closeness the images become intimate portraits of feeling where beauty and mystery coexist.
